WHO WE ARE:
Hi there!
We are Josephine and Bogdan - a full time pet-sitting couple in our late 20's. We have 4 years experience with caring for owner's pets and homes while they're away on vacation. We are a mixed couple from Australia and Romania, who speak English only. We are actually non-locals, who do not live in the Netherlands - we work online remotely while travelling Europe with free pet-sitting exchanges. We would love to find some pet-sits in the Netherlands!
WHAT WE OFFER:
We pet-sit as a free, mutually beneficial exchange. We will live in your home while you're on vacation and provide quality care of your pets and home, free of charge, in exchange for a free stay in your home. We only ask that owners provide the pet food/pet supplies, and cover any house and vet bills for the duration of our stay.
OUR EXPERIENCE:
We are experienced, back-to-back pet-sitters who have completed countless pet-sits over 4 years. We have sat small and large dogs of various breeds, plenty of cats and tank & pond fish. We leave owners with very happy pets, healthy green gardens and sparkling clean homes - plus we keep owners regularly updated and send through plenty of pet pictures!
For cats, we offer a calm and patient approach, understanding that some need time to feel comfortable around new people. We let them warm up at their own pace, providing affection and playtime when they’re ready.
For dogs, we offer up to 2 daily walks, playtime, and plenty of affection and cuddles. For a fair exchange, we sit dogs who can be left for up to 5 - 6 hours, allowing us time & flexibility to discover your area.
We have cared for many senior pets, and are experienced with administering medications and taking pets to the vet if necessary.
Jo also grew up with various pets (including both cats & dogs) and knows how to care for rabbits & rodents, turtles, frogs, chickens and birds.
We have also completed volunteering for families ('Workaway'), but caring for people's pets and gaining all those free cat and dog cuddles has become our favourite way to travel!
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
- We don't drive & require pet-sits accessible via public transport.
- We are non-smokers and require smoke-free homes.
- We pet-sit for owners who are away on vacation only, and don't accept arrangements where an owner will visit or live in the home during our stay.
- We don't accept indoor & undisclosed cameras, third-party pets, or third-party home occupancy during our stay (including family & tenants).
- We use video calls to confirm and arrange pet-sits, and are unable to meet with owners in advance, as we do not live in the Netherlands. However, we are happy to arrive the day before your departure to meet you and learn about your pets and home. As experienced & self-sufficient sitters though, we don’t require extensive handovers or neighbourhood tours, ensuring an easy and stress-free transition.
